Explosion-Proof Vacuum Selection & ATEX Guide
Equipment and production partner updates.
Assess the Material and Working Area
Combustible dust, flammable gases and vapours can create explosion risks. Ask a competent safety specialist to assess the material, operating process and hazardous-area classification before selecting a vacuum. A motor rating or an explosion-proof product name alone does not establish suitability.
Distinguish Workplace Assessment from Equipment Approval
ATEX covers both workplace protection and equipment intended for potentially explosive atmospheres. Confirm the applicable requirements for the destination and the approved equipment configuration. Site classification and equipment selection must be reviewed together.
Documents to Request
Request the manufacturer's current certificate or declaration, exact model designation, equipment marking and operating instructions. Check the approved dust or gas group, temperature limits, accessories and any special conditions. Compare these with the proposed material and site assessment.
Check the Complete Collection System
Review the motor, electrical components, filter media, hose, nozzles, seals and grounding arrangements. Substituting accessories can change suitability. A HEPA filter, antistatic hose or grounding chain by itself does not convert an ordinary vacuum into approved explosion-protected equipment.
Manufacturer Documents on This Website
The certificate gallery includes manufacturer documents for review. CNEX documents must not be treated as proof of ATEX approval, CE conformity or coverage of every model and accessory. Fengyao does not claim that every FB-series configuration carries ATEX certification.
Confirm the Order and Maintenance Requirements
Provide the material, site classification, supply voltage, operating hours, accessories and destination. Confirm the agreed configuration and documentation before shipment. Follow the manufacturer's inspection, cleaning, emptying and maintenance instructions throughout use.
